    Dear Professional School Counselors, 

    You are invited to participate in a self-report survey as a part of a quantitative research study about school counselor burnout and engagement. My name is Byeolbee Um, a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at the University of Iowa. I am currently collecting data for the study about the impact of various individual and organizational factors on school counselors’ burnout and engagement. This study is approved by the University of Iowa Institutional Review Board. 

    In order to participate in this study, you must meet the following criteria: 

    (a) currently working as a practicing school counselor 

    (b) holding updated school counseling certification or licensure 

    Participants will be asked to take a survey, which will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. 

    A $50 Amazon gift card will be given to 20 participants who agree to enter the raffle. E-mail addresses will be collected and separately managed just for compensation. Your participation is completely voluntary.

    The WISE Wellness Lab at the University of Northern Colorado is currently conducting a study to understand the impact of secondary trauma on school personnel. The study has been approved by the University of Northern Colorado IRB (IRB# 2201034951). I am in the process of recruiting participants for my study and was wondering if you or anyone you know is eligible to participate.

    This study will gather information about school personnel's exposure to secondary trauma and the effects it has on different aspects of their mental health such as burnout, retention, and quality of life. Participants who choose to participate in the survey can select the ANONYMOUS link below. Estimated survey completion time will be 10-15 minutes. Interested participants must:

    - Be at least 18 years old to consent to participate

    - Currently work in a school

    - Fluent in English

    SolQuest Therapy Training Institute is offering a workshop on June 7, 2022 from 12:00-1:30pm entitled Widening Your Lens: The Transgender Journey.  This workshop will explore the social, legal, and medical transitions of transgender youth/clients and how both school counselors and mental health counselors can help support them.  Click here to register now.

    My name is Caroline Lucy and I am a Clinical Psychology PhD student at Eastern Michigan University working with Dr. Alexandros Maragakis. We are conducting an online survey to better understand mental health providers’ use and beliefs about various evidence-based practices.

    We invite you to participate in a research study being conducted by investigators from The University of Iowa.  The purpose of the study is to gather information on the needs of school counselors related to suicide risk assessments.  

    If you agree to participate, we would like you to complete a 10-15 minute survey. There is a link provided to an electronic survey with 22 questions. You do not have to answer all of the questions. You will not be contacted after participating, and participation is voluntary. You can withdraw from the research at any time.

    We will keep the information you provide confidential, however federal regulatory agencies and the University of Iowa Institutional Review Board (a committee that reviews and approves research studies) may inspect and copy records pertaining to this research. We may share the data we collect in this research study with other researchers so they can use the data for other studies in the future. We will not share your name or any other private identifiable information that would let the researchers know who you are. We will not ask you for additional permission to share this de-identified information.

     If there is any identifiable information in your answers, it will be de-identified before being used. The information will be kept completely anonymous. 

    If we write a report about this study we will do so in such a way that you cannot be identified.

    After participating in the survey, you can choose to enter your email for a chance to win one of 50, $20 Amazon gift cards that will be randomly drawn. The emails will be kept separate from the survey answers and cannot be connected to each other.
