February 10 LGBTQ+ Affinity Group Meeting

  • 10 Feb 2025
  • 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Via zoom

The MASCA LGBTQ+ Affinity Group provides a safe, confidential space for school counselors who identify as LGBTQ+. Our meetings offer opportunities to discuss topics and issues relevant to both our personal experiences and our work supporting LGBTQ+ students.

Please join us on Monday, February 10 from 4:30-5:30 PM for a special virtual session featuring guest speaker Craig Aarons-Martin. Craig, who serves as President of MASCD and Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth, will discuss the evolving political landscape and its potential impact on the LGBTQ+ community. He will address strategies for managing concerns while effectively supporting students, ourselves, and each other during these challenging times.  You can learn more about Craig HERE and HERE.

Craig is deeply passionate about creating inclusive spaces and advancing equity in education and youth advocacy. As an associate MASCA member himself, Craig brings valuable insight and experience to our group. This session offers an excellent opportunity to hear Craig's perspective, engage in meaningful discussion, and build connections with fellow school counselors who understand and share our experiences.

We welcome you to join us for what promises to be an engaging and supportive gathering with colleagues who understand the unique challenges and opportunities we face as LGBTQ+ school counselors.

To join the meeting, you must pre-register here.
