MA Model 3.0: What, Why, Who, When, Why & How. Will It Really Improve Student Achievement?
The MA Model 3.0 is an updated framework designed to guide school counselors in providing effective, data-driven support to students in alignment with the latest research and best practices. This training will break down the MA Model 3.0, focusing on its core components, the rationale behind its adoption, and practical steps for implementation. Counselors will learn how to leverage this model to enhance their school counseling programs, improve student outcomes, and ultimately drive student achievement. The session will explore the "What," "Why," "Who," "When," and "How" of the MA Model 3.0 and dive deep into the evidence supporting its ability to positively impact student achievement and school climate. Participants will leave the training with a personal action plan focused on school counseling models that they will commit to completing in both the short and long term.
Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the MA Model 3.0: Define the key components of the MA Model 3.0 and understand its evolution.
2. Evaluate Its Impact on Student Achievement: Understand how the MA Model 3.0 can improve academic performance, social-emotional development, and overall student success.
3. Identify the Right People and Stakeholders: Learn how to engage all necessary stakeholders—students, teachers, administrators, families, and the community—in the successful implementation of the model.
4. Implement the Model Effectively: Discover best practices for rolling out the MA Model 3.0, including strategies for data collection, setting measurable goals, and tracking progress.
5. Use Data to Drive Continuous Improvement: Learn how to assess the effectiveness of the model and adjust interventions and strategies to maximize its impact.
6. Align the Model with School-Wide Initiatives: Explore ways to integrate the MA Model 3.0 with existing school initiatives, such as SEL programs, academic supports, and school climate efforts.
