Calling all Professional School Counselors!

Please consider participating in a dissertation study conducted by Tevin Middleton, a school counselor and doctoral candidate at the University of Iowa.

The study aims to examine the effects of organizational and contextual factors on school counselors’ perceived social determinants of health (SDoH) competency (e.g., knowledge, attitudes, actions).

You are eligible to participate in this study if you:

  1. Have an active license/certification in school counseling from a U.S. State or territory,
  2. Currently serve as school counselor in a K-12 setting in a U.S. State or territory, and
  3. Have at least six (6) months of professional school counseling experience beyond completion of a school counseling master’s degree program.

If you agree to participate, you will complete an electronic survey about your SDoH competency as well as organizational and contextual factors. The survey will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and you are free to skip any questions you prefer not to answer.

More information about the study can be found on the survey link: bit.ly/SchoolCounselorSDOH

Please share this message with any professional school counselors who may qualify. If you have any questions about the research study itself, please contact: Tevin Middleton via email (tevin-middleton@uiowa.edu)
