The purpose of the workshop is to review Section 504, the regulations and OCR/court decisions with a particular emphasis on the changes made to the OCR’s interpretation of the Section 504 regulations after the ADA Amendments of 2008 went into effect.  Because personnel who have responsibility for Section 504 compliance and implementation in a school district frequently change, this workshop will be appropriate for those who have been in their roles a short time as well as a good review for those who have been responsible for Section 504 for longer and who may not be familiar with the sweeping changes in Section 504 interpretation over the past 5 years.
