Counseling Directors Weekend Class

MASCA is pleased to enter into a partnership with the Massachusetts School Administrators Association (MSAA) and Teachers 21 to create a new and exciting pathway for school counselors seeking either certification as a counseling supervisor/director or credential in best practices, resource sharing and cutting-edge school counselor leadership.Please note that taking this one weekend class alone will not guarantee director certification.  Other requirements must be met.

Specific topics covered in that module will include equity awareness, advocacy, identifying and closing gaps, social emotional programming and the role that school counselors play in ensuring all K-12 students graduate career and college ready. The syllabus for this module is currently in development.  The class will be taught by Tracy Encarnacao, Director of Counseling at Greater Lowell Vocational Technical School and school counseling adjunct professor at Merrimack College.

The class will be held in person only from 4:30-9:30 PM on Friday, January 21 and 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on Saturday, January 22 at the MSAA Office, 33 Forge Parkway, Franklin, MA.  The cost will be $150.  20 PDPs will be provided for those who complete the course requirements.  The deadline to register is Friday, January 7.  Participants must be active professional or associate MASCA members.
