Book Club 2022-23 Fall Semester

This year the #MASCAReads Book Club will be partnering with the MASCA Professional Development Committee to offer 20 PDPs for 2 book studies.  The first book will be studied in Semester 1 through January 2023 and the second book will be covered in Semester 2 through May 2023.  Each book can earn you 10 PDPs by completing the following:

1.  Read the book

2.  Complete a document that records your thoughts as you read each chapter

3.  Attend 1 Book club meeting to discuss the book and create an action plan based on the book

4.  Attend 1 Book club meeting with the author

In the first semester October 2022-January 2023 we will be reading 101 Solutions for School Counselors and Leaders in Challenging Times by Stuart F. Chen-Hayes, Melissa S. Ockerman, and E.C.M. Mason.

            Meeting #1 - Wednesday November 9, 2022  4-5pm

            Meeting #2 - Wednesday January 11, 2023  4-5pm

In the second semester February 2023-May 2023 we will be reading School Counseling to Close Opportunity Gaps A Social Justice and Antiracist Framework for SUCCESS by Cheryl Holcomb-McCoy.

            Meeting #1 - Wednesday March 15, 2023 4-5pm

            Meeting #2 - Wednesday May 17, 2023 4-5pm

If you register for both book studies by Friday October 7th you will be entered to win a copy of both books.  When you register we will email you the document so you can record some thoughts as you read and a template for building your action plan which we will use at the November meeting.  Please complete the Google form to register.  We look forward to seeing you there!
