Fall 2026 - Ethical Decision Making in School Counseling Cases, Challenges and Practice - FSU Graduate Class

This dynamic graduate-level course is designed specifically for school counselors at all levels — elementary, middle, and high school – who want to deepen their ethical decision-making skills in meaningful, practical ways. Grounded in School Counseling Ethics and Law by Carolyn Stone, the ASCA Ethical Standards, and the ASCA Position Statements, participants will build the frameworks and confidence to navigate even the most complex situations.

The Fitchburg State University class will be run synchronously online on Wednesdays, September 9 – December 16 from 5:00-7:30 pm and will include 5 hours of asynchronous learning before and after the class.  The course will cost $400 and $295 extra if you want the graduate credit.  The class will be taught by Mindy Cripps, MASCA’s Ethics Committee chair and Director of Student & Family Support, for the Billerica Public Schools.  Participants who successfully complete the course will earn 37.5 PDPs.

MASCA is a Fitchburg State University approved extended campus partner.  As such, all MASCA professional development courses, which are being offered for graduate credit, must meet university assessment and learning objective standards, as well as all Carnegie Unit contact hours requirements.  Courses offered for Fitchburg State credit are reviewed by university academic leadership. University policy states that two courses (six credits) of graduate coursework can be used toward an M.Ed., MS, or MBA program with the approval of the graduate program chair at the time of admission.
