School Counseling in the Age of AI: Tools, Tips, and Best Practices
This training explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can support and enhance the daily work of school counselors. Participants will gain a practical understanding of AI tools and applications that streamline administrative tasks, support data-driven decision-making, and enhance student engagement and academic planning. Through demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and real-world scenarios, counselors will learn strategies for integrating AI safely and ethically into their practice while maintaining student privacy and equity. The session also highlights best practices for balancing technology with human connection, ensuring that AI serves as a tool to strengthen—not replace—the counselor’s role. By the end of the training, participants will leave with actionable strategies, practical tips, and a roadmap for incorporating AI into their school counseling programs to improve efficiency, impact, and student outcomes.
Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
